Mike Zacha is the founder and president of Zacha Tax Resolution, based in Bend, Oregon, where he helps individuals and businesses nationwide resolve tax debt.

Mike Zacha is the founder and president of Zacha Tax Resolution, based in Bend, Oregon, where he helps individuals and businesses nationwide resolve tax debt.
Mike has worked in tax resolution since 1999, beginning with direct conversations with taxpayers about their circumstances. He later completed hundreds of hours of training and collaborated with attorneys, CPAs, and Enrolled Agents to learn which resolution strategies best fit each case. He also spent 20 years as vice president of a major tax resolution firm.
Through countless conversations with taxpayers, Mike has heard from business owners hurt by slow-paying customers, people misled by a spouse or bookkeeper, and families overwhelmed by illness or natural disasters. These experiences showed him that tax debt often stems from circumstances beyond a person’s control – and that too many firms use fear to justify excessive fees.
Zacha Tax Resolution fulfills a goal Mike has pursued since 2004. He listens carefully, identifies the simplest path forward, and clearly explains options ranging from payment plans to offers in compromise. Licensed tax professionals then manage each case with the IRS and state agencies.
If someone can resolve the issue independently, Mike says so. He offers guidance at no charge, and some of his most rewarding conversations end with the person moving forward on their own.
Outside work, Mike enjoys life with his wife, two sons, and two black labs. He spends his free time hunting, fishing, mountain biking, and cheering on his sons at soccer games and on the bike trail.
